East Bay Open Studios is back for two weekends this June with over 180 artists opening their studios to the public. This free, self-guided event invites you to visit artist studios, pop-ups, and galleries in Oakland, Berkeley, and beyond. Explore the East Bay arts scene, discover unique, locally made work, and support local artists and makers. See paintings, prints, ceramics, sculptures, and more!

Summer East Bay Open Studios kickoff event with local artists represented, live music, snacks, drinks and special art-making activities. The centerpiece of the party will be our Community Exhibition , featuring a mix of artwork by participating East Bay Open Studios artists. Come mingle with talented creatives from your community, preview their beautiful creations, and make a plan to see more of their work at East Bay Open Studios June 6-7 and June 13 - 14. (And get a head start on adding to your collection at this special preview!)

The gallery will also be open Sunday, May 31, 12-4pm.

    Join me at Makers Workspace in Berkeley CA for East Bay Open Studios to experience firsthand live screenprinting! I’ll be hosting a hands-on workshop where you can step up to the press and learn the traditional technique of hand-pulling your very own print of the Guardabarranco, the national bird of Nicaragua. This interactive experience is completely free and open to all ages, offering a unique opportunity to explore the cultural symbolism of the Guardabarranco while creating your own piece of art to take home. Don’t miss out on the chance to dive into the screenprinting process, view my new limited-edition ceramics, soccer jerseys, shirts, and new paintings and prints.

  • Epitaph to the Flame (a cloud temple) On-going inflatable travelling installation

    For this East Bay Open Studios iteration, Epitaph to the Flame (a cloud temple) will function as an activated participatory space during a dedicated hour-long session in which visitors are invited to enter, bounce, rest, meditate, gather, or simply observe. The inflatable will remain fully activated during this time, allowing the sculpture to operate as a temporary site of collective presence and embodied encounter. As an ongoing travelling installation, the work continues to accumulate memories and interactions into its evolving timeline. Rooted in ideas of ephemerality, excess, and social sculpture, Epitaph to the Flame embraces unpredictability: the space may hold quiet reflection, spontaneous performance, conversation, stillness, or playful movement. Participants are encouraged to engage with the work however they feel called to, whether through active participation or quiet coexistence.
